Overall Verdict: ★★★★☆

These black Dansko platform sandals are comfortable and versatile, and I wore them everywhere this summer. Initially I was hesitant to give them a chance because I’ve had problems with Dansko sizing in the past. Dankos are usually too narrow for me, and I can rarely get the right size. Also, many Dansko sandals have a slight curve at the front toe that typically puts extra stress on my toe joints and has even caused numbness in the past. However, the Lindsay sandal is super comfortable and has not caused strain or discomfort. Though slightly narrow, they have been excellent for summer parties and events, and for walking short distances.

Sizing and width: I bought them in size 38 Medium (B) which fit well overall. No wide size was available. However, they are slightly long and narrow for my feet. The straps have caused mild discomfort due to tightness at my forefoot joints.

Weight: These shoes have a cork cushioned platform which is heavier than some sandals. However, they are a smooth ride. They do not weigh my feet down or put strain on my knees as true wooden platforms might.

Heel: The heel is about 1¾“ high, which descends gradually towards the forefoot to about a 1” platform. Due to the higher heel, I was nervous about potential strain on my arches/toes, but these shoes are crafted to cradle your foot, and they have been pain-free.

Arch: The sole offers a medium arch that provides support for people who pronate.

Forefoot: The platform provides support through the forefoot. The rolling movement of walking in Danskos eliminates extra strain on toe joints.

Straps: The straps are made of leather but they are lined with a man-made material. Because of this, they have limited stretch. As mentioned above, the front straps have not stretched to accommodate my wide forefoot, which make them a little tight. On the plus side, the back strap is adjustable and holds the shoe in place.

Motion Control: These shoes are a close and comfortable fit. They seem to be designed to hug the foot, and mine does not wobble or shift while wearing them.

Breathability: These open sandals allow for plenty of breathing room. The footbed is soft, cloudlike, and does not accumulate perspiration.

Versatility: These sandals can be worn with clothes that range from casual to business casual/trendy attire. They are excellent for short walks and standing. However, because of the higher heels and heavier weight, they are not useful for long treks.
